The Oak and Ivy - Hawkhurst

Paul Baxter, landlord, talks about the smuggling past of the Oak and Ivy public house in Hawkhurst, Kent. It was once the headquarters of the notorious Hawkhurst Gang who operated in the mid 18th Century. They were the largest and most certainly most violent of the smuggling gangs from that time. These days the Oak and Ivy offers great English food and a large selection of the best beers from around England. Castle Farm Alpacas

Castle Farm Alpacas are a new and enthusiastic quality breeder and suppliers of alpaca products in the heart of beautiful North Shropshire. Sometimes life sets a path and you feel compelled to follow it and it has been rather like that with our journey with alpacas. These wonderful animals captivated me from the start and every step we took into seeing if we could be involved with them seemed to get us a step closer and here we are now 6 months on with a lovely herd of 4 females and 2 male cria born summer of 2011.

Godard's Brewery

The Brewhouse at Barnsley Farm, near Ryde on the Isle of Wight, dates back to the 18th Century, and Goddards Brewery is a revival of this tradition of farmhouse brewing. In those days the beer was brewed for the estate and farm worker as part of his actual pay.

Hopton Castle

The Bald Explorer visits Hopton Castle, the site of a bloody siege during the English Civil War and find sout about the local preservation trust

Whitton Hall - Shropshire

Whitton Hall is a family home with a beautiful garden. Christopher and Gill Halliday and their daughter Kate will be on hand to make your stay as comfortable and peaceful as possible. There are two spacious and light bedrooms. The twin room has views over the lake and the front of the house and has its own bathroom with shower. The spacious double bedroom has a stunning bay window overlooking the gardens and summerhouse where you can relax and read, and has a its own bathroom with a bath. Both rooms have televisions, cotton bed linen and tea making facilities with home-made biscuits. There is free WI-FI in the house.

Tulley's Farm Shop

This video was produced by Vobavision as part of a web series called The Harvest. Growing fruit and vegetables is part of Tulleys history and it is in the Farm Shop that we showcase over 60 years of experience as producers by selecting from our own farm and other local growers the best and freshest local fruit and vegetables. Our mouth-watering, colourful displays of fresh produce are reminiscent of traditional market displays from years gone by.

Sussex High Weald Dairy

Another video produced by Vobavision for the Harvest series. The cheese makers craft a delicious range of award winning cheeses from organic cows milk, conventional and organic sheep milk and most recently goat milk. The organic cow milk comes from the cows based on their farm. The sheep milk is supplied by several sheep milking units, the largest milking over 700 ewes twice every day, and the goat milk comes from Kent.

Heath Farm

This is a video produced for a web series called The Harvest. The farm, which covers 35 acres and is bounded by the tiny Lambourne stream, is the starting point for several enchanting walks offering delightful views. Children will love to see our livestock and can experience for themselves the special pleasures of observing farm animals close to.
